If you have a post you want to nominate, please leave a link in the comments below.
The deadline for nominations is Friday May 18.

I’d like to nominate a post by Big Ass Belle about her wedding that almost wasn’t. I loved its honesty and poignancy.

This made us laugh out loud. Which was not good as we had a mouthful of coffee at the time.
Edvard Monkee (again!), Trowell Services:
http://edvardmoonke.wordpress......-services/
Possible item of interest: up to this point, exactly 100 different blogs have made it to the shortlist.
Although most have only been shortlisted once, An Unreliable Witness has been shortlisted 8 times, and little.red.boat 6 times - although neither blog has then gone on to win outright.
I think Mr Witness should just make our lives easier and install an auto-nomination widget on each post :)
That’ll be the judges fault then.
Enidd with Home Is Where The Mug Is?
“… customs or no customs, the snow was imminent, and christmas wasn’t going anywhere - though enidd’s often thought it should have a nice summer holiday…”

that dratted mr. x beat enidd to it *again*, but only cos she’s a lazy sod who only gets to post of the week nominations a day later than reading the post. so she seconds edvard moonke, who was very very funny. err, that’s *is* very, very funny.
and thanks so much peach!
another nomination, flyrodent for thou art the ref, what shalt thou do:
Fair DESDEMONA, daughter of Venetian senator BRABANTIO, hath skipped past the left-back and advanceth goalward. Yet even as she approacheth the angle of the box, IAGO doth bring down DESDEMONA with a crude, two-footed lunge.
Personal, in the most moving way, and written in language that is wonderfully powerful and evocative: On a whim from Absolutely Miles Away.
I think something may be ‘up’ with the comments on POTW. Unless they are now being moderated?
Thanks for the heads-up, Mr. Witness. The spam filter does seem to have suddenly got a lot more agressive. Anyhow, I’ve rescued everything which needed to be rescued, and shall keep a closer eye on things for a while.
Random Burblings: Conspiracy Theory.
For deeply personal reasons.
An evocative post about Betjeman, strawberries and of gentler times gone by.

I’m afraid I haven’t kept up with POTW for the last fortnight or so, so I don’t know if this post from Peach - which is linked to from Fussy Bitch’s wonderfully powerful post (already nominated) - has been nominated already.
You Might Like Me
But if it hasn’t been, I’m nominating it - and if it has been, I’m seconding it. It’s incredible.
I would like to second Ariel - Fussy Bitch has come up with a belter of a post on abuse.
However, would also like to nominate PatientGuard with
Borderlin e Personality Disorders Treated With Elastic Band Therapy with a truly fantastic post on BPD, self harm and the paucity of the therapy offered on the NHS.
Quinn of the QC Report has a two-part post on the random power of urban forest fires.
Summer and Smoke and the unforgettable fire
Because comedy is merely tragedy divided by time, because words are just as valid if they are written in humour, because it’s very very funny indeed and had me laughing so much I nearly swallowed my tongue, please not only shortlist but list as the winner (go on, you know it makes sense) - Ebriection from Pandemian.
Yes, yes, I know. I work on the web. You wouldn’t believe it.

Ruth of Golden Horse with badly drawn boy. We’ve all been there.

“The older man leans back in his chair. After a long pause he says, “Sometimes you have to exploit the negatives in your life. That may be how you have to look at this.”
My ears perk up. This conversation’s solid gold.”
