The deadline for nominations is Friday March 9th.

Dear all,
I don’t have a blog but enjoy reading some interesting ones, I have discovered a few more thanks to this site (via Lesley who was nominated) http://lezzles.blogspot.com/
I would like to nominate for this week a post called ‘Monsters bawl’ written by Jabberwock on March 2nd here :

I love to laugh! and here is a subject which is not written about enough.
Cheers,
Deborah Geffré
Hello I would like to nominate this post from Thinking Out Loud - it’s a great blog and after a short break the writer (That Girl) is back with a bang..She really writes from the heart and the blog is interspersed with “life lessons” of all kinds

Many thanks

Modern day Britain, unedited. As always, more to this than initially meets the eye.

I can’t decide, so I’m nominating both of these from El Guapo in DC My Mr. Wendal and Cutting Corners.
I’ll try that last one again Cutting Corners.
Yes, I know this is a post about music, but what the heck …

But Betty, no one dies! You can’t have a Post of the Week without…
…oh, hang on, it’s the New York Dolls. As you were.
(And this might be a good place to remind you that POTW encourages diversity of subject matter. There’s no law which states that every post must be a Deeply Moving Illumination Of The Human Condition. Kittens, for instance. We haven’t had enough posts about kittens.)
Nominating B’s (From ‘The Wanderings of the B’) Tuesday March 6th post entitled ‘dark nights’ - it just hits the mark, as she quite often does.
Always brilliant, every week!

I’ve probably cocked this up! Try and have a look anyway, eh?!!
Bah! Unclear! III don’t have a website, but I am nominating one,

Sheesh.
“There’s no law which states that every post must be a Deeply Moving Illumination Of The Human Condition”
No, but I dod suspevct the deeply moving ones will always have the edge. Given the choice between a very-well-written heartfelt piece and a very-well-written piece of comedy, I suspect the former will always win. It’s a shame, but gasps seem to beat chuckles.
“dod suspevct”
Um, that would be “do suspect”…
This from Anna. I especially liked the soap dispenser cockroach.
“It’s a shame, but gasps seem to beat chuckles.” That explains my lack of recent success with the ladies then, thanks Clare.
Inspired by Life On Mars, who hasn’t wanted a conversation with your six year-old self?

Mike, Darling, you can encourage diversity of subject as much as you like, but it’s never as if anything that isn’t fabulously *writerly* (or literary or heavy or otherwise impressive etc etc) is ever going to win, my dear.
It seems to be the way of things.
Now there Was something I was going to nominate, but I have quite forgotten it. I shall be back.
Diamond Geezer: Life, the universe and everything.
A Deeply Moving Illumination Of The Human Condition.
I call it the Academy Award Syndrome. Big,serious beats small, witty almost every time. That’s why I think the shortlist is more important than the eventual POTW– it gives funny the appreciation it deserves.
Rather late in the day, literally, but I nominate this one from darling zoe. (The authoress, not the tabby cat.)

NOMINATIONS FOR THIS WEEK ARE NOW CLOSED.
The shortlist will be appearing shortly
