    From the rules:

    “You can nominate any post from any weblog, so long as it’s recent (i.e. no more than a couple of weeks old).”

    The post was already nominated - but not shortlisted - last week, but we don’t have a hard and fast rule about posts being nominated in consecutive weeks. If it had been shortlisted last week, then it certainly wouldn’t be eligible again…

    I’m wondering about video posting as well. The primary goal of POTW, as stated in the rules, is to “hightlight great writing”. Adrian’s video post last week was outstanding, but you couldn’t even say there was a script. What to do?

    ADMIN: Please note that we have updated the rules, which now list the various types of post that cannot make it through to the shortlist.

    There’s nothing to stop you nominating them, and giving them a bit of publicity - it’s just that they won’t be shortlisted, that’s all.

    The list of exceptions is as follows:

    1. Posts which are more than three weeks old.
    2. Posts which have been nominated before.
    3. Posts from the current winner.
    4. Posts which you have written yourself.
    5. Posts which have been written by members of the editorial team (there’s a list on the “rules” page).
    6. Audio posts, video posts, or purely photographic posts.

    So from this week’s nominations, this knocks out Numbers 1, 11, 17 and 21.
