If you have a post you want to nominate, please leave a link in the comments below.
The deadline for nominations is Friday August 22nd.

Here’s a nomination that was accidentally blocked last week:
Ridiculously funny stuff from Scaryduck: http://scaryduck.blogspot.com/.....nator.html
(nominated by Cliff)
And here’s another blocked nomination from kate:
Finally! A test that gets down to the nitty gritty of the English language: http://anenglishmaninosaka.blo.....-test.html
Charlie Brooker in the Guardian’s Thanks to China, we have a blueprint for 2012.
Absolutely wonderful. But don’t read it while eating/drinking. Harm may ensue.
Yes, it’s wonderful. But it’s also an online re-print of a published newspaper article (today’s G2, page 5), and hence not really what you’d call a blog post in the strictest sense of the term….
Oh, and while I’m being a tinpot dictator: #1 above is disallowed, as Scaryduck is already in the Hall of Fame.
That just leaves the one which got lost in the post…
Why did it get blocked Mike ?
Ooops and Lyle .. sorry sorry!
It’s all down to the mysteries of the spam-trap software, kate. The algorithms do work remarkably well on the whole, but comments with embedded links are inevitably more at risk, as most spam comments also contain embedded links. So very occasionally, a legit nomination mistakenly gets flagged as spam by the software, until we admins spot the error and de-spam it manually.
Ah, didn’t know it had been printed.
All the same, it’s on the Grauniad’s “comment is free” blog, and allows comments. Ergo, I’d say it was also a blog post. Additionally, there’s nowt in Rule #1 about it whether a blog post (or post at all) is commercial work. (Although one can argue that it’s not strictly a “personal blog”)
Regardless, I felt that respect (and further linkage) was due to the post - it’s certainly on my personal “Best posts of the month” list!
It’s a moot point, Lyle - and you’re quite right, there’s nothing in the rules to disqualify it outright, so the shortlister is free to make his/her own mind up. (I must rein in those tinpot Hitler tendencies…!)
Rules or not, I’d say it was against the spirit of POTW, but who am I to judge? The first two points of the mission are: To highlight great writing on personal blogs; To draw attention to blogs that you might not have heard of before.
Customer service issues at the new “restaurant” in Reluctant Memsahib’s village:

Time we had something Olympic-related, so how about:
