Ok - a little later than usual (a good friend’s birthday celebrations got in the way of my responsibilities, I’m afraid) - here goes…

1. Blonde Moments… In which I suspend Disbelief
Nominated by Ben

California Girl has joined a cult. No, really.

2. Gargoyle: Time is (of) the essence...
Nominated by Wendy

In terms of time as an asset, time is fundamental to us as a resource. We are aware, possibly, that our time is limited, that our time is finite, that it is constantly being used up no matter what we do. We are also aware, possibly, that our time resources are exchangeable for other resources (e.g. money) when we have a job or are self-employed or that we sacrifice those when we choose not to exchange our time in an occupational capacity.

3. Glitter for Brains: Dinner Dates and Bus Stops
Nominated by Peach

All this talk of dating reminded me how hideous and how brilliant it is. Especially for Gentlemen Who Were Picked Last In Games for, you see, we have an extra card to play at the end of the night.

4. Let Me Tell You All About It, Sweetie: Sooner or Later
Nominated by Bob

While learning more about the Little Rock Nine, I noticed quite a few parallels between the struggle that these kids (and the black community as a whole) fought for to obtain their civil rights and the struggle that homosexuals have for civil rights.

5. The Hellcat Chronicles: Behind This Door Lies Untold Horrors
Nominated by Zinnia Cyclamen

I have made an accidental scientific discovery, on the same scale as Dr. Whatsisname and the penicillin growing, unencumbered, on the back of a copper penny. Or not.

6. The Mighty Ding: God is Not Great
Nominated by Earth Girl

Freedom of thought is the one human right that you can never truly take away from anyone, despite the best efforts of zealots and tyrants everywhere, and it is an incredible shame that so many people simply choose to hand their minds over to the petty rules and regulations of world religions and (more importantly) the leaders of these religions.

7. Unjuicier Gossip: Just My Imagination
Nominated by Boy

When I was with The Evil Ex, I didn’t wear sunglasses indoors or wear long sleeves in the middle of summer, but I did withdraw from almost all of my friends. Things were happening that I didn’t want to talk about, but they were also all I could think about.

8. writer’s moll: Minted in Morocco
Nominated by Cliff

I like mint. It’s a versatile little plant and you can do a lot of nice things with it – wrap it in thick dark chocolate for an after dinner treat, mix it with chocolate chips and churn it into ice-cream for an even nicer one, whizz it into a sauce to jazz up your lamb chop, suck it in peppermint form afterwards to get rid of the smell of said lamb chop, scatter it on salads or even frost it and use as a decoration – but stuffing it into a pot with half a pound of sugar and some boiling water and calling it tea, is not one of them.
