If you have a post you want to nominate, please leave a link in the comments below.
The deadline for nominations is Friday January 26th.
Update: This week’s shortlist will be posted shortly. Apologies for the delay. It’s early days, folks…

I nominate “Pedigree Glum” by Anna, because it is funny and entertaining and well-written and she did it despite being miserable.
And I nominate “Huge Rage” by Zinnia, because it’s erudite and heartfelt.
And “Christ on a Bike”, by Vaughan. Hard to say why. I just like it.
Ooh, and “Nosy Ned“, by Forksplit.
Sorry. I won’t nominate any more. Probably.
Blogzira’s Would I Eat You if I Could Have a Conversation With You?
Awww, thanks Clare! My nominations for today are ‘Wake-Up Call‘ by Guyana-Gyal - a descriptive gem - and ‘sitter 2‘ by Ruth at meanwhile here in france, a great vignette of her unconventional marriage, beautifully told.
Tired Dad: Ballet / Twat.
Quick Q : As I’m shortlister for the week, am I right in assuming I can’t do any nominations? (undue preference, blah, blah, blah)
Lyle: feel free to add your nominations. I did it last week… even though one of my nominations didn’t end up on the shortlist.

In that case, Girl’s ‘Generation.
I’m sure there’ll be others.

Yes, I know that GFB was already shortlisted last week - but this one is such a great combination of Mwa-ha-ha and Tell It Like It Is Sister that it just has to go in.
NOMINATIONS FOR THIS WEEK ARE NOW CLOSED.
The shortlist will be appearing shortly…
Hang on. Not meaning to be snippy, but if you are going to have a deadline can you stick to it? I came here specifically to nominate (this post) specifically because the site said deadline was Friday, and it’s still Friday, only to find nominations are closed, even though, as previously pointed out, it’s still Friday.
Okay, so maybe I was meaning to be snippy. Stopped now.
Noisy Decent Graphics - The Design Disease.
Oh! Just noticed Lyle and Alan’s comments. It’s just past midnight and it’s such a bloody brilliant post, can I squidge in? Pretty please?

Its been here all week!!
Surely RULES are RULES.
On the shortlister’s guidelines, it says “On Friday night or Saturday morning (UK time) – whatever suits you best - add a comment to the nominations box, which says NOMINATIONS FOR THIS WEEK ARE NOW CLOSED.”
However, as I don’t have the password to log in and close the comments (I’ve emailed Mike about that one) I’ll allow the nominations that’ve been added up ’til now.
There, everyone happy? Good.
Now, when I get the password (*ahem*) I’ll sort the shortlist. Promise. And apologies for delays…
I RESIGN
Just to clarify on deadlines: The cut off point should be midnight on Friday night, “give or take a couple of hours”. Sorry for the confusion. It’s still early days…
As mike as said, we are early days with this. It’s supposed to be a fun thing so let’s not get too carried away.
And they aren’t Rules, more.. guidelines. ;-)
I’ll investigate some way of auto-closing comments on shortlist posts when it hits midnight - how does that sound?
