- Previous Shortlists : Feed
The next Post Of The Week will be announced on Sunday night.
Please note that nominations for next week cannot be accepted until then - HOWEVER, as from this week, we would like to invite you the reader to vote on these shortlisted posts, alongside our Post Of The Week Judges - which means YOU now all get a vote and can all play a part in choosing the Post of the Week. And we’d like you to do this every week too!
So, if you’d like to add your twopenny’s worth to the judging of the shortlisted posts, please pick your FIVE favourite posts from the list and award 5 points for your most favourite, 4 for the next best and so on. Then please email them to peacharse@yahoo.com by 6pm on Sunday evenings. Your votes will be totted up and put with our Judge’s votes and the winning post announced as usual on a Sunday night. Please note, we don’t want you to just pick ONE post that you think is great, but FIVE out of the list, and award them 5-1 points accordingly.
Please email me if you have any queries, otherwise, happy reading…
Here is our first 2008 Post of the Week shortlist:
(1) Betty’s Utility Room’s Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff
One of the things I hate about January is the amount of Positive Bollocks that is foisted on us which tends to make the cynics among us feel guilty.
(2) The Big Sofa’s Magic Porridge
There was this little girl in this village right? Well, she went off into the forest one day, and saved this old witch’s cat from a tree or something. Or perhaps the witch was drowning and the young girl dove into the lake and pulled her out.
(3) Chocolate Sandwich’s Good Carrots Ruined
The lights were dimmed and Lucia brought the chestnut mousse into the dining room with some ceremony and not a little pride in her efforts. The rest of the company smiled its approval and a gentle ripple of applause greeted Lucia as she processed to the centre of the table.
(4) Andrew Collins’ The Manners Manifesto
It’s a new year. Time to solve the problems of the world - and there are one or two - before it’s too late. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, and it’s dawned on me that the only way we’re going to make the world a better place without having to plough through all that due process and red tape and so-called democracy is to start being better ourselves.
(5) Smaller Than Life’s All I Want For Christmas
This is easily the best thing that I got for Christmas. It’s a discarded draft of a letter that I wrote to Father Christmas that my parents saved and found 27 years later.
(6) Todger Talk’s ‘Mr Sex’: The Reason I Joined This Blog
The sex was ace. But she had a strange foreplay technique which involved bending my nob about like an Atari joystick during a particularly intense level of Pac-Man.
I apologise for the lateness of this week’s shortlist, I’ve been ‘aving a spot a bovva wiv me electriks, innit
