The recent post titled “9″ is the one I’d like to nominate:

    - the writer Cracks Me Up.
    - the writer makes me feel what he’s feeling, and see it
    - the writer shows me his life then and now in this entry

  2. An Unreliable Witness

This is a relatively new blog - but in the space of a few entries, having started well, the writing has just soared. This latest post pulls you in and is just completely mesmerising: /random from Not Just Hiding.

    Your rules, OK?

The Radicalization of an Ordinary Woman

  6. An Unreliable Witness

Like my previous nomination, Complicity is one of the best blogs around, containing exquisite writing. Only What I Want You To See is not only an inventive format for a blog entry, but reads like a manifesto for a certain kind of online writer.

Alan’s battling with the Rise of the Machines in his post “Enemy Amongst Us”:

I know he’s a published author and all that, but Dave Gorman’s uncomfortable encounter in my local park struck a chord.

    And chilled me somewhat.

  9. Bryant Caplan

Very funny with a down-to-earth voice. He’s written a book and now blogs about his experiences trying to get it published.

Edited by Lyle : This is the link that’s being recommended (it didn’t make it’s way into the comment itself) - it’s also the link recommended in the same manner in the comment below. As such, personally I wonder if this is some kind of spam. Time will tell, I guess.

  10. Jessica Caplan

This new guy on the block strikes an unusual balance of arrogant and self-deprecating, surprisingly insightful and totally offensive. I’m hooked on his daily ramblings…Plus, I hear he has a big penis.

Re. comments #9 and #10 above, I think they’re genuine nominations done in a weird way, so - as this week’s shortlister - I’m letting it go through.

This is turning out to be a very diverse week, nominations-wise.

    So keep ‘em coming…

  14. Lyle

Fairy Nuff, Mike. Just wanted to check, as they both came through looking very weird indeed…

  15. Mike

Joe. My. God.: Fake Morning View - Upper East Side. A slice of high summer NYC life.

  16. Chuck

I nominate “Losing My Perspective” from On The Job.

  17. (name withdrawn by request)

It’s long, but oh God it’s worth reading: The Secret Blog of a TV Controller’s Fuck the Media Guardian.

Pure, hysterical vitriol and unadulterated backstabbing bitchiness. A spiteful delight.

  18. Nick

Mike, I am NOT on commission - as you wrongly surmised once. The lady doesn’t send one up so much as bring one down these days but the writing remains strangely compelling:

  19. overnighteditor

Bit of an unusual one this.

Not a post of the week, but I feel I really ought to nominate Mister Lysander for “comment of the week” following his belated offering on my post “Bitch Didn’t Show”:

    Madnesss? Genius? Autospam? You decide.

  20. James

I nominate Window, from Hymn: http://hymn.typepad.com/song/2007/07/window.html

Great metaphors, he captures the situation very well indeed. Nice bit of mystery as well.

  21. Marc Price

I would like to nominate Tooting Commuter! The writing speaks for itself……

  22. Marc Price

So you can see that thw riting speaks for itself I thought I’d post the link!
