Call for nominations

July 15th, 2007

If you have a post you want to nominate, please leave a link in the comments below.
The deadline for nominations is Friday July 20th.

In other news, if you’re interested in being a guest judge, or in helping us judge on a regular basis, please go here and have a look. You won’t get paid for it, but you can walk around with a smug grin for a week every so often, knowing you get to nominate and/or judge a post of the week. Good, innit?

I know I nominate him regularly, but well, he makes me laugh.

Dad Gone Mad writes about congenital stupidity

I say Jack, because it’s a little bit clever, and I wonder how the judging rules will cope…

  4. Mark M

    I nominate Chuck Westbrook’s I Hate Your Job: http://www.ihateyourjob.com/wh.....-your-job/

  5. Adrian

I’ll throw in Andy’s talk about music and labels and piracy.

Because it’s nice to see a balanced view on these things.

I was moved by Dad Gone Mad’s post this week called “Caught in the Act.”

In America, we have a phrase meant to chastise someone for a showy or overly giddy celebration after scoring in a ballgame, “Act like you’ve been there before–pretend it’s not your first time scoring a point.” I’m not sure this is an Americanism, but I don’t want to assume one way or another.

Anyway, I really haven’t been there before. This is a new watermark for my humble little blog.

I’m honored to be nominated this week, and while watching in silence from afar would be a better display of decorum than shouting thanks in the comments section…

    Thanks, Mark!

I came here to nominate Katy’s Hamster Spooge story, but I note that Adrian has already done so. That is all. Move along now.

  17. Shortlisting Person!

NOMINATIONS FOR THIS WEEK ARE NOW CLOSED.
The shortlist will be appearing soon.

    Two notes:

Guyana Gyal: Posts can be up to 3 weeks old and, as long as they don’t break any of the other rules, they’re eligible.
Peach/Enidd: Enidd’s nomination has been spotted & will be taken into account (not sure how to move it though…)

Right - on with the difficult job… :-)
